Community Involvement

Catie’s Closet is a non-profit organization that provides clothing, toiletries, and other necessities to children and teens experiencing poverty or homelessness through closets located directly within schools across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. By removing the daily barriers of not having essentials, Catie’s Closet empowers students to feel confident, stay in school, and focus on their education. This vital support boosts self-esteem, improves attendance, and helps break the cycle of poverty—positively impacting tens of thousands of students every day across more than 140 schools.

For 60 years, Sportsmen’s has leveraged tennis to open doors of opportunity for youth in some of Boston’s most underserved communities. As one of the 20 largest organizations in the USTA’s  National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, they provide top-tier tennis instruction, academic support, and life skills programming for more than 5000 youth annually. Their health and wellness programs target the most pressing chronic health issues facing families in Boston’s inner-city communities.

In addition to our youth programs, Sportsmen’s is the home  club to roughly 300 adult members from all over Boston who rent courts,  take lessons, compete on our traveling teams, and share their time and talents with our youth.

The American Precision Museum located in Windsor, Vermont, and is housed in the historic 1846 Robbins & Lawrence Armory.  It holds the nation's largest collection of historically significant  machine tools and celebrates the history of American precision  manufacturing. The building itself is a National Historic Landmark,  recognized as the place where precision interchangeable parts were first  developed in the United States. APM combines the atmosphere of an original 19th century factory building with a world-class collection of historic machines. The 1846 armory building, the “Shaping America” exhibition and accompanying programs explore industrial history in the context of innovation, creative problem solving, and the impact of precision manufacturing on American history and culture.

Our Lady of Mercy parish's mission includes celebrating sacraments, proclaiming the  Word of God, and ministering to the spiritual and temporal needs of the community through various activities like prayer, charity, education,  and evangelization. They aim to welcome everyone and preserve the faith amidst a changing world.
